CORONAVIRUS STATEMENT

Dear friends,

As the current situation progresses and changes, we are following the most up to date guidance and will be amending our updates accordingly in order to advise and inform you as best we can; and to ensure that we are able to help protect our team, our guests and customers, and our community.

In these testing times for all, I wanted to reach out and pass on my best wishes to you and yours; as well as to reassure you that we are doing the best that we can in this current uncertain climate. As always, the health and wellbeing of our customers, our team and our local community remains our top priority, along with providing positive experiences and exceptional hospitality.

Please be assured that we are doing all that we can to protect you, including:

  • Social distancing measures throughout our restaurant and further hotel spaces at Richmond Hill Hotel, to ensure sensible seating distances between customers

  • Increased frequency and intensity of the - already thorough - cleaning in all public areas, using recommended disinfectants

  • Very regular disinfecting of door handles, light switches and lift buttons, plus reception desks and bar and eating areas

  • Diligent sanitising of frequently used items such as menus

  • Fresh air circulating throughout the building

  • Antibacterial sanitisers available throughout the building for guests and staff

We are remaining diligent and monitoring the changing Government and Public Health England guidelines live and are following their advice and instructions accordingly, which you can read more about here. At present, there have been no reported cases of the virus amongst our staff or guests, and we have processes and practices in place should anyone not be feeling well. We are also, of course, following the self-isolation guidelines, remote working policies and are monitoring the health and well-being of our team regularly.

Our approach, following best practice current advice includes:

  • Postponing customer bookings if they are not feeling well

  • Advising all diners and our team of our hygiene facilities

  • Advising against physical contact including handshakes and high fives, and observing the recommended two metre guidance wherever possible

  • Whole team commitment to washing hands very regularly and using sanitiser when entering or exiting a new area, plus regular team communications, briefings and checks

  • Seating plans in our restaurants and bars to increase space between groups of diners wherever possible

  • Monitoring the health and wellbeing of our team regularly, including self-isolation guidance and recommendations, plus sick pay benefits

  • An isolation procedure should staff or customers become unwell at the restaurant or wider hotel

At present, our restaurant and hotel rooms and lounges are still open for necessary meetings and those who need them. We are enforcing a range of sensible social distancing measures and monitoring capacities and availability carefully, in order to ensure that we are serving our guests and customers as safely as we can. So, if you’re comfortable to, are well, and it is sensible for you to do so, please come and join us, where we will be happy to welcome you.

All the best,

Diane Tapner - Evans
